Director Alex Freedman earned his B.A. in Music from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude, making the Dean’s List every semester, and receiving the Harvard College Scholarship for Academic Distinction, the Robert C. Byrd Scholarship, and the Harvard Book Award. While at Harvard, Alex also founded the Fantastick Theater Company, serving as Musical Director and as President, and earned the Arthur Smithies Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Kirkland House. As a tutor, Alex has instructed nearly 1,000 students from all over the world. He is deeply committed to the idea that all students can become better thinkers; whether learning the content of a standardized test or deciphering a complex differential equation, his students have discovered that learning can be rewarding and enjoyable.
Director Gus Mattammal earned his B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from Pomona College and his M.B.A in International Strategy and Finance from Yale School of Management. Gus has been tutoring math almost without interruption since he was thirteen years old, both as a volunteer and as a professional tutor. Prior to joining Advantage Testing, Gus worked as a Sales Executive for Katz Communications, as a consultant for the Mitchell Madison Group, and as an internal consultant in both finance and operations roles for Capital One Financial Corp.
